    Originally from Madagascar, Dracaena Marginata is a striking plant known for its slim, upright stems and spiky, deep green leaves edged with reddish-purple. It’s sometimes called the “Dragon Tree” - a name inspired by an ancient belief that its red sap was the dried blood of dragons. Fortunately, this one’s low drama and high impact.

    Dracaena Marginata prefers bright, indirect light, but it also does well in lower light conditions. In UAE apartments, it’s happy near a window with filtered light - just keep it out of direct sun, which can scorch the tips of its leaves.
    Watering

    Let the top few centimetres of soil dry out between waterings. Dracaenas don’t like soggy roots, so it’s best to underwater slightly rather than overdo it. With one of our self-watering pots, moisture is regulated for you - just keep the reservoir topped up and let the plant draw what it needs.
    Temperature & Humidity

    This plant adapts easily to indoor temperatures between 18–28°C, which suits most air-conditioned homes in the UAE. It doesn’t require high humidity and typically handles dry indoor air without complaint, but keeping it away from cold drafts or direct A/C flow is ideal.
    Ongoing Care

    Remove any dry or brown leaf tips with clean scissors for a tidy look. Occasionally wiping the leaves with a damp cloth will keep the foliage healthy and vibrant.
