Native to Central and South America, the Money Tree is often braided and given as a gift to bring prosperity. Its shiny green leaves and sculptural stems make it a favourite for homes and offices. Fun fact: in feng shui, it’s believed to attract positive energy.

Money Tree — Light Guide

Money Trees prefer bright, indirect light. They’re happiest near a window with filtered sunlight, but they’ll also adapt to moderate light conditions. In UAE apartments, just avoid harsh afternoon sun directly on the leaves, which can cause browning.
Watering

Water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry. This plant stores moisture in its thick stems and doesn’t like overwatering. With a self-watering pot, top up the reservoir occasionally and avoid adding water from above - it’ll take what it needs and reduce the risk of soggy roots.
Temperature & Humidity

Money Trees thrive in temperatures between 20-28°C, ideal for most air-conditioned homes in the UAE. They prefer moderate humidity but tolerate drier indoor air well. Occasional misting or placing the plant away from direct A/C flow will keep it at its best.
Ongoing Care

Rotate the plant every few weeks to promote even growth and prevent leaning toward the light. Wipe the leaves regularly to remove dust and maintain their shine. If you see yellowing leaves, it’s often due to overwatering - adjust the routine accordingly.
