    Common Name: ZZ Plant

    Originally from Eastern Africa, the ZZ Plant is nearly indestructible, with waxy, deep green leaves that thrive on neglect. It’s a slow grower, but a dependable one. Fun fact: its underground rhizomes store water, helping it survive long dry spells.

    The ZZ Plant is highly adaptable and tolerates low to bright, indirect light. In UAE homes, it works well in corners, offices, or hallways that don’t get much natural light. Just avoid placing it in direct sun, which can scorch its fleshy leaves.
    Watering

    Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. The ZZ Plant is extremely drought-tolerant and much prefers under-watering to over-watering. If you’re using a self-watering pot, top up the reservoir sparingly - once every few weeks is often enough in cooler months.
    Temperature & Humidity

    ZZs thrive in indoor temperatures between 18–28°C and are perfectly suited to air-conditioned apartments. They’re not fussy about humidity and will perform well in dry indoor air - just keep them out of direct airflow from A/C units.
    Ongoing Care

    Wipe the leaves occasionally to remove dust and maintain their glossy finish. The ZZ Plant grows slowly, so there’s no need to prune often - just remove any yellowing or damaged leaves from the base as needed. It’s an ideal low-maintenance choice for beginners or frequent travellers.
