Native to coastal South Africa, Strelitzia Nicolai is known for its large, upright, banana-like leaves that create a bold, architectural statement indoors. In its natural habitat, it can grow into a tree-like plant reaching several metres tall. Fun fact: the natural splits in its leaves aren’t damage - they’re an adaptation that helps the plant withstand strong winds in the wild.

Bird of Paradise thrives in very bright light, including several hours of gentle direct sun. In UAE homes, place it in your brightest room - ideally near large windows or sliding doors. The more light it receives (without harsh midday burn), the stronger and more upright its growth will be.
Watering

Water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry, keeping the soil lightly moist but never soggy. During warmer months, it may need more frequent watering.
