    Common Name: Ficus Tineke / Variegated Rubber Plant

    Ficus Tineke is a variegated cultivar of the classic Rubber Plant, Ficus Elastica, native to Southeast Asia. With creamy-white edges and pastel green leaves often tinged with pink, it makes a bold yet calming addition to any space. Fun fact: its stunning patterns are caused by a lack of chlorophyll in parts of the leaf - which also makes it slightly slower growing than its all-green cousin.

    Ficus Tineke does best in bright, indirect light to maintain its variegation. In UAE homes, place it near a window that gets lots of natural light, but keep it out of harsh direct afternoon sun, which can burn the leaves. Too little light may cause the colours to fade.
    Watering

    Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry out between waterings. This plant likes regular watering but is sensitive to overwatering. A self-watering pot is a great match - it provides gentle, steady hydration while protecting the roots from sitting in excess moisture.
    Temperature & Humidity

    Ficus Tineke thrives in temperatures between 20-28°C, perfect for air-conditioned homes. It prefers moderate humidity but adapts well to typical indoor conditions. Just keep it away from cold drafts and vents blowing direct A/C.
    Ongoing Care

    Wipe the leaves gently with a damp cloth to keep their beautiful variegation clean and dust-free. Rotate the plant every few weeks to encourage even growth. If it becomes too tall or leggy, you can trim it back - it responds well to occasional pruning.
