Common Name: Fire Croton

Native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, Fire Croton is known for its bold, multicoloured foliage in shades of red, orange, yellow, and green. It’s a true statement plant that instantly adds warmth and energy to a space. Fun fact: the brighter the light, the more vibrant its colours become - making light a key part of its personality.

Fire Croton thrives in bright light, including some direct sun. In UAE homes, place it near a sunny window or balcony door where it can get plenty of natural light. Lower light conditions can cause the colours to fade, so brighter is better for this plant.

Water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry, keeping the soil lightly moist but not soggy. Crotons don’t like drying out completely, but they’re also sensitive to overwatering. A self-watering pot can help maintain steady moisture - just keep the reservoir topped up without letting the soil stay constantly saturated.
