Native to Mexico and Central America, Tradescantia Zebrina is known for its trailing stems and striking purple, silver, and green striped leaves. It’s a fast-growing plant that works beautifully in hanging pots or on shelves. Fun fact: the purple undersides of its leaves help reflect light back through the plant, boosting photosynthesis in lower-light conditions.

Tradescantia Zebrina thrives in bright, indirect light, which helps maintain its vibrant colours. In UAE homes, place it near a window with filtered sunlight. It can tolerate some gentle morning sun, but avoid harsh direct afternoon rays, which can fade or scorch the leaves.

Water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry. This plant prefers slightly moist soil but doesn’t like sitting in water. If you’re using one of our self-watering pots, just keep the reservoir topped up - it helps maintain even moisture and supports faster, fuller growth.
